Eldon Rasmussen

A racing historian had spoken with Eldon Rasmussen recently during the month of May at Indianapolis. Eldon, who got his start in Alberta has ended up at Indianapolis after making the move there in the mid-1960s. The historian wanted some background info on the "Hinton Hornet". So this is some of what I dug up from the files.

First, another recent article on Eldon.

And a couple things from the 1960s:

Hello I am looking for the car built by Eldon Rasmussen also any history on the car or if anyone knows its whereabouts (may have been called the Hinton Hornet). The car was built around 1959 and raced in Alberta and British Columbia. Last known racetrack it raced on was Westwind Oval in 1977. The car was later driven by Leroy Kidner in 1972.

Looking for a car that was built by Eldon Rasmussen nicked Hinton Hornet. It was built around 1959 and was also raced by Leroy Kidner in 1972 and Brian Simmons in 1977 at Westwind Oval. If you have any information about the car or its history please comment. Thank you.
