 Taking a break from Johnny Comet. Found these on phasebook. Colour cartoons by Oregon starter Pat Vidan. He went on to flag at the Indianapolis 500 for many years.

Pat Vidan, flagger from Oregon, who was official starter at Indianapolis from 1962 to 1979 was also a cartoonist. I'd heard he would do cartoons at the side of the track between races when he was still flagging in Oregon. Here's the first cartoon I've every seen by him.
