Art Pollard up in Edmonton in 1962

Art Pollard made the long haul from Oregon up to Edmonton for the Gold Cup. He won a couple of those and eventually got on the USAC Championship trail. Just one of a handful of drivers from the northwest who graduated from the modified circuit (eventually CAMRA) to the big time.

The Copper Cup was a big race at the Salt Lake City Fairgrounds for a number of years. By 1963 it was part of the CAMRA circuit. But even back in 1961 drivers were coming from far and wide to vie for the big prize money.
