been off my game for a week or two

Sorry about that. Other things have been coming up and planning the posts for this blog have made it to the end of the list that I seem to not get to the end of much lately. (Uh, is that a sentence?)

So, as it's Burt Munro's birthday today ( 25 March 1899 – 6 January 1978), here's a three part story on him from 1971: Offerings to the God of Speed.

Westwood, 1969 Pepsi Pro Invitational

Looks to be the Group 7 and Formula races at Westwood, June 29, 1969. OLK Productions made this VHS video. Long out of print from what I can tell.

Saturday morning viddy

A report on Port Alberni in 1967. Young people and their vehicles.

A brief appearance of Ed Roth's Yellow Fang at Cobble Hill. Unfortunate that the kid calls the guy "Jerry Roth".

Stirling Moss and Phil Gaglardi at Westwood, 1965

Interesting film clip of Stirling Moss and Phil Gaglardi (Minister of Highways back then) doing some promotional work at Westwood. Sir Stirling in the Bob McLean Lotus and "Flyin'" Phil looks to be in G.B. Sterne's Morgan.

A Saturday Video

Short, but informative. And somewhat entertaining.

The NOVI at Indianapolis

Fifteen minute video of the 1964 NOVI trials, tribulations and a little success at Indianapolis.

I've been told Regina's Bob Rogers was part of the NOVI crew wearing those somewhat goofy STP coveralls. I don't know what he looked like then so I can't identify him.

Flagger Pat Vidan came out of the Portland area. I don't think he ever came up to any Canadian track to flag before he made it to Indianapolis and the big show.
