Love the shuffling drums. Too bad, given the Vancouver area's hot rod love that no sports team, like the Canucks especially, were not named the Hot Rods.
That would just be too confusing. Guy Patrick, the owner of the family business, the Denman Arena, had a hockey team before the Second World War named The Lions. (I think the football team at the time was called The Grizzlies.) And he promoted the local midget auto racing from 1939 to 1941. bfp
The Vancouver Lions, eh. I checked their team stats and the Maroons who preceded them. Looks like hockey mediocrity in Vancouver began just as soon as the Millionaires figured one Stanley Cup was plenty - much sooner than I thought.
