I do remember Darly B.'s name on the radio. Mostly I remember J.B. Shayne from a CBC radio show he had in the early 1980s, Neon Nites. Also when he freaked out at some tech problems at the old CKLG-FM while debuting a Bowie album.
What I remember best from the rock 'n roll radio of my youth was the sock hops 'LG and 'VN put on at my junior high school. The drag strip like competition between those two AM stations for the local juvenile delinquent audience was fierce.
Some build up to the event. And the "establishment" view of the happening.
