Earl Wutke led from
pole until lap eleven. Dennis Lester led the next seven laps. Don
Nickel then led until lap 37. Then Dowler took over. Dennis Lester
and Ken Marwood went into the fence and Larry Sproule took the lead
from Dowler but Dowler got it back. While Eric Dowler won he had been
allowed to race in the championship even though he was an outsider.
Larry Sproule got the trophy.

sad news
Sad to learn of the recent passing of Fred Rannard, Sr. He was 92 years old.
He had been involved with publicity for Langley and Skagit Speedways and was a great ambassador for automobile racing. His son, Fred, Jr., carries on with that tradition.
