I was there. Took some photos. The news clipping helps me remember things I probably didn't know at the time. The sidecars were amazing. That I remember Not a big field but the smallest slip and, wow!, disaster.

 Well, I wasn't looking for this but here it is anyway. The 1985 Formula Atlantic race at Westwood.

Ron Farmer and Mission

 Ron Farmer is in the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame and is a Greater Vancouver Motorsport Pioneer. He's still involved with the sport.

The NOVI at Indianapolis

Fifteen minute video of the 1964 NOVI trials, tribulations and a little success at Indianapolis.

I've been told Regina's Bob Rogers was part of the NOVI crew wearing those somewhat goofy STP coveralls. I don't know what he looked like then so I can't identify him.

Flagger Pat Vidan came out of the Portland area. I don't think he ever came up to any Canadian track to flag before he made it to Indianapolis and the big show.

Victoria hill climb reunion

the rock and roll shows, 1957

At least two big package tours of rock and rollers came through town in 1957. Now they might have been like the jazz package tours of the same year, a bit problematic what with advertised stars cancelling and whatnot. But the lineups for the shows are amazing.

The May drag race at Abbotsford probably was rained out judging from some other news articles from that weekend.
