Langley Speedway, August 8, 1965

A quickie look at Langley Speedway, August 8, 1965. Sources are the Sun and the Columbian. But the big source is also the graphic, Racing Wheels.

Under cloudy skies and the threat of rain there were only 2000 in the stands but 81 cars in the pits for the Skagit Speedway/Langley Speedway for the second race of the International Challenge Cup series between the two tracks.

Mains went to:
A modified -- Ralph Monhay
B modified -- Glen Parsons
early late -- Dave Folk
stock -- Bob Pearson

But the story by Stu Smith says a whole lot more than I can.

As a bonus here is a report on the first race of the series held at Skagit Speedway, August 5, 1965. Both clippings are courtesy of California's Jim Thurman who emailed them to me a few years ago, back in the slow dialup days.
