Langley Speedway, June 20, 1965

Only one news item that I've found so far. That being from the Surrey Leader, June 24, 1965. I did look in the Sun and the Province and the Advance but nothing there.

From this limited resource then:

3500 in attendance.

25-lap A main
1st, #2, Tom Fox, Bremerton, WA
2nd, #2, Harold Sjostrom, Nanaimo, BC
3rd, #29, Wayne Wilbey, Whalley, BC

B main
1st, Dave Ferris, Victoria, BC
2nd, Frank Carr, Haney, BC
3rd, Glen Parsons, North Surrey, BC

A new track record was set for the A modifieds by Prince George's Vic Russman at 15.46 seconds in his #65 modified.

Another new track record was set for the B modifieds by Dave Ferreis at 16.77 bettering the previous mark of 16.91 by local racer Dennis Goldstraw the first week out.

During the A main Russman and #53 Wilf Sikova tangled.

Also running in the A modified class was #22 Mel Keen and #33 Ralph Monhay.

From photographer and historian Robert G. Hunter, who has had access to the old Racing Wheels publication, he adds that Frank McCabe won the stock main with the jalopy (early-lates) main going to Carmen Parton.
