Found a couple very nice blogs, mostly focused on the Indianapolis 500. And if you talk to a few older racers from the 50s and 60s that was a major trip, often taking up the whole month of May.
So, A Fan Comes of Age at the Indy 500 looks at the 500 year by year through a journal kept by his father.
And Walter Zoomie's blog, mostly on the 500 with reprints of stories done by his father (?), I think, for the Indianapolis Star back in the 50s and 60s.
Those two, plus tidying up some already on board up in the right corner, plus more to come.
