Wednesday, September 18, 1968, Langley Speedway

The championship races for ELRA and LARA were postponed from Sunday, September 15th to Wednesday, September 18th due to rain.

And thus the 1968 season, a long one, closed out at Langley.

Early-late consolation main (25 laps, 11 start, 6 finish)

1 -- Dennis Hill
2 -- Roger Boucher
3 -- Jack Steiger

Lap 10 -- Mike Stephens and Gerald Ball crashed. Stephens out. Lap 11 -- Stan Cavanagh lost a wheel.

Early-late main (19 start, 10 finish)

1 -- Ken Marwood
2 -- Rick Adsit
3 -- Merv Meyer

Lap 2 -- Leo Laser and Ken Sande into fence. Later, Vern Abney, Frank Fletcher, Dennis Corfe crashed on straight. Abney and Corfe out but Corfe came back in Ed McIntyre car.

Modified stock car (35 laps, 10 start)

1 -- Norm Andrews

John Thomas, Keith Whitter and Norm Andrews crashed late in the race. Norm was the last leader and with too few cars to continue was declared the winner.

Super stock main (50 laps, 17 start, 11 finish)

1 -- Gordie Hemrich, 1957 Pontiac with a 350 Camaro motor
2 -- Bill Godfrey, newly built 57 Chev 327
3 -- Rollie Walker
