From a disc of northwest midget racing photos sent to me by Chuck Harring that he made of Ione Rentz' collection. Her husband, Frank, owned various cars over the years.
He was my uncle I was named after him. I would love get in touch with anyone that may have any memorabilia. I never met the man he was killed 8 years before I was born.
My best suggestion would be to contact the Golden Wheels Fraternity out of Seattle. And if you can speak with Mel Anthony, who has been featured on this blog, or get his book, Smoke, Sand and Rubber, he speaks highly of Don Olds. As I remember Mel would say Don, when racing midgets or anything, didn't lift until the "tin crinkled".
I'll post some more photos of Don Olds for sure. bfp
