While there will be more about Rea Lentz racing the Seattle-based Romano Special in Vancouver in future posts here is one reason why this car is important.
It won the first Pikes Peak Hill Climb in 1916. The above clipping is from the
Seattle PI.
Years later Vancouver-based driver, and first SCCBC president, Roy Shadbolt went to the Peak.

I like the article, however you mention there might be more information about this car and perhaps the driver? I do not see any further mention of this in your blog. Is there any more information on either the car or driver. I have looked for information about Rea Lentz for some time and cannot find much more than what you showed.
I know this post was 3 plus years ago, but just thought I would ask.
You're right, I seem to have gotten sidetracked for a few years. I'll drag out the information and see what I can put together.
A search (upper left corner) for Romano or Lentz does get a few results from the "early Vancouver racing" posts.
